Bill Wood

Broke Down World

Alt-country-rocker Bill Wood’s solo release, “Take It”, co-produced with Tim Abraham, is a blend of rock n roll, roots pop and old Nashville. Bill is one of our national (Canadian) treasures, having a strong, yet simple, poetic sense that hits deep and to the point. Songs such as “Broke Down World” and “Drunkenstein” illustrate his ability to paint poignant pictures over thoughtful melodies. “Rock n Roll” and “All Mine” show his roots rocker soul while “Real Life” and “Everybody Blue” show us Bill’s got one foot in old country music - and we don’t mind! The CD even gets Beatle-ish with “Smile Inside” but not without lyrics that contrast the song’s pop exterior. More rootsy material follows with “Nowhere Town” and “Where’s That Song”.
